This week on Valley Edition Ezra David Romero reports on efforts to save the Tricolored Blackbird. KVPR's Jeffrey Hess reports on the effort to revive Fresno's Manchester Mall. Fresno City Council candidate Jeremy Pearce also joins the program. Later Bakersfield Mayoral Candidate Karen Goh chats with Valley Edition Host Joe Moore. We also hear a story from StoryCorps Legacy in partnership with Hinds Hospice about a family remembering a toddler lost to leukemia. Ending the program Karana Hattersley-Drayton talks about Fresno's Historic Preservation Week. 

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of KVPR / Valley Public Radio. He has led the station through major programming changes, the launch of KVPR Classical and the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership the station was named California Non-Profit of the Year by Senator Melissa Hurtado (2019), and won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting (2022).
