California Supreme Court en Brown Names New Supreme Court Nominee <p>A Stanford law professor who was born in Mexico and immigrated to California as a teenager has been selected as the next nominee to the state’s Supreme Court. Katie Orr reports from Sacramento.</p><p>Governor Jerry Brown has named Stanford Law Professor Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar to replace retiring Justice Marvin Baxter. Cuellar has been at Stanford since 2001. He also assisted President Barack Obama on immigration issues during the Obama transition into office.</p> Tue, 22 Jul 2014 21:52:57 +0000 Katie Orr - Capital Public Radio 36092 at Brown Names New Supreme Court Nominee California Supreme Court Rules in School Insulin Case <p>The California Supreme Court has ruled that school employees without medical licenses can give insulin shots to diabetic students in some cases.</p><p>Monday’s unanimous ruling reverses a lower court decision that permitted only licensed nurses to give the shots.</p><p>Dr. Francisco Prieto is with the American Diabetes Association.
