July 11, 2012 -- Christine Autrand Mitchell "A Remarkable Tragedy" & Howell Hurst "Long Walk To the Showers"
A family's life is changed by the sudden death of a father and son. In "Long Walk To the Showers," The story of a homeless man trying to rebuild his life.

July 18, 2012 -- Bob Hudgens "Mulberries for Mohammed" & Jerry Fisher "Lilli and Her German Soldier"
A story about how the author made a friendly connection with a person from a different culture. In "Lilli and Her German Soldier," a German soldier at the notorious Auschwitz concentration camp falls in love and saves the life of a German Jewish girl.

July 25, 2012 -- Gary Soto. Four stories from his book "A Summer Life" including "The Bike", "The Haircut", "The Pie" and "The Nile".
Gary reads "My Time on Weldon Avenue" which is the forward to a book published for the Centennial Celebration of Fresno City College.

August 1, 2012 -- Judy Ryan "Little Fire"
A young girl comes of age and questions the origins of her unusual name.

August 8, 2012 -- Jane Rosenthal "El Tropical"
A job in Mexico hosting bird watchers introduces "Bea" to some unsavory characters.

August 15, 2012 -- Benjamin Rae "Disconnect"
A night telephone operator invents a fictitious supervisor to circumvent troublesome calls.

August 22, 2012 -- Mary Benton "The Grape Fields"
Set in the Dust Bowl era, a family of grape pickers assist in the recovery of a kidnapped boy.

A young lady's song lyrics propel her to unexpected wealth and success.
