On this week’s Valley Edition, we hear special reports on the controversy over farmers using treated wastewater from oil producers in Kern County, and efforts by Fresno policeto build trust with young men of color.

We also look at the future of vocational education in the valley, and talk to Fresno Unified board member Brooke Ashjian, who wants the district to build a new high school focusing on career technical education.

Later in the program we will hear another in our series of first person accounts of life in the valley, from a Chowchilla woman who has lived without running water in her home for five years.

We close the show with an interview featuring filmmaker Denny Tedesco, who is the director of the new documentary “The Wrecking Crew” which tells the story of the LA studio musicians who were the backup band for everyone from Frank Sinatra to The Byrds and Sonny and Cher. The film is at the Tower Theatre in Fresno this Friday for a screening from Fresno Filmworks.
