This week on Valley Edition Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perez speaks with host Joe Moore about the upcoming senate race. Also on the show Valley Public Radio reporters Rebecca Plevin and Ezra Romero team up to look at three ice cream shops that have remained popular and successful across generations. 

Also on this week's program Valley Edition host Joe Moore interviews Shelton Johnson, a ranger with the National Park Service, about the presence of Buffalo Soldiers in Yosemite and other national parks. 

The program ends with FM89's Rebecca Plevin interviewing author Anne Fadiman about her book The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down.  Plevin is joined by a panel of experts to talk about the impact the book has on the medical field and the Hmong population across the nation.
