Valley Edition: January 12 - Leticia Perez; Robotics; Subsidence; Bald Eagle Tours

This week on Valley Edition Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perezjoins host Joe Moore to talk about what to expect in the South Valley this year. Reporter Kerry Klein tells a story about an organization teaching kids how to use robotictechnology in Fresno. 

Later in the program, KVPR Reporter Jeffrey Hess interviews Hydrologist Jim Borcher about how costly subsidence could be to California. Ending the show, we explore outdoor activities in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. State Park  Ranger Mark De Leon at Millerton Lake talks about boat bald eagle tours at the site and Rosanna Ruiz with the Sierra Foothill Conservancy chats about hikes along the historic table top mountains in the region. 

Joe Moore is the President and General Manager of KVPR / Valley Public Radio. He has led the station through major programming changes, the launch of KVPR Classical and the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership the station was named California Non-Profit of the Year by Senator Melissa Hurtado (2019), and won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting (2022).
