Fresno Police Announce Bulldog Gang Arrest

Fresno Police say they have made a significant arrest of a number of high-level Bulldog gang members. More than a dozen suspected gang members were arrested in an early Friday morning raids.

Police Chief Jerry Dyer says the arrests stem from a month’s long multi-agency investigation that included roughly 300 local, state and federal law enforcement agents.

Police have been using a wiretap to monitor the gang for months leading up to the arrests.

Dyer says the suspects, who range in age from 23 to 36, were involved in running guns and drugs as well as a nationwide network of human trafficking and prostitution.

“Those arrested in this investigation, and those that are still outstanding, are some of the most violent, active and influential Bulldog gang members that we have in the city of Fresno,” Dyer says.

Dyer says while there are an estimated 20,000 active gang members in the city, the Bulldog gang represents the largest and one of the most active.

However, because it has a dispersed network, rather than top down control, it has proven difficult to infiltrate and disrupt. He thinks these arrests will send a message to other gang members not to fill the leadership void.
